NSCS Chapters
Most of our members have an NSCS chapter at their school where they can take on leadership opportunities and get involved at the local level. However, if there isn’t a chapter at your school yet, there are a couple of ways to get involved and make the most of your membership.
For one, you could participate in the NSCS National Chapter programming, which includes leadership opportunities, virtual networking activities, and monthly general body meetings with members from all over the country. If you’re interested in more than national chapter involvement, you could consider starting a chapter at your school as a founding officer. Check out the Founding Chapter Guide below for more information.

Commitment
NSCS chapters embody the spirit of each individual member’s commitment to scholarship, leadership and service, built upon a foundation of integrity. The Society is proud to have chapters at over 300 higher education institutions across the country.
Connection
Like many of the bonds that form on campus early in one’s academic career, NSCS membership lasts a lifetime. NSCS offers automatic chapter membership immediately upon joining. Getting involved with your local chapter is an exceptional way for members to foster relationships with fellow students who share your passion for scholarly excellence. More importantly, it provides a solid foundation on which to develop and refine leadership skills and community service experience.
Recognition
NSCS hosts formal New Member Induction Ceremonies to welcome and celebrate new members and to honor outstanding academic performance. The Induction Ceremony also recognizes outstanding members of the community as Distinguished Honorary Members and is attended by family and friends to recognize and support loved one’s achievements.
