Opportunities

NSCS is proud to provide exclusive scholarship opportunities to our members each year. With support from our partners here are a few of the scholarships available to NSCS members:

Semester at Sea: A remarkable education experience giving scholars a unique view of the world aboard a floating university. Through our partnership, we offer nearly $100,000 in scholarships to members interested in participating in Semester at Sea.

GEICO Sponsored Awards Scholarships for motivated members in both undergraduate and graduate programs including specific scholarships for First Generation Students, Minorities in STEM, and Women in Business to name a few.

Qualifications for each exclusive NSCS scholarship vary, but our general requirements are NSCS Membership and a 3.0 overall GPA for all undergraduate members. Recipients are chosen based on their commitment to academics, leadership, and service specific to each scholarship. Some scholarships are open to any academic discipline, while others are restricted to fields or career objectives.

I want to extend my gratitude to my professors, advisors, and peers who have been instrumental in my academic and personal growth. Their help has brought me far and I would not be accepting this award without their guidance.

Recipient: Haley Pelham, Prince George’s Community College ($2,500)

I am both honored and humbled to receive such an amazing gift from NSCS. I want to express the significance that the NSCS Scholarship for Women in Business has on my life. When I was notified that I had won the scholarship I was truly grateful because it meant that other people believed in me and my future. This scholarship will not just fund my education in business but encourage me to do great things in my community and strive to be the best. Benjamin Gravelle

NSCS 2023 Scholarship for Military Veterans in STEM sponsored by GEICO

Recipient: Benjamin Gravelle, Purdue University Global ($2,500)

This scholarship will be essential to my transition from active military service to full time student. Funding for my degree is available via G.I. Bill but scholarships like this open the door for me to save that benefit for graduate degree programs later in my career. I cannot overstate how thankful my family and I for the commitment NSCS fulfills for its members.
