What Makes NSCS So Different?

Nearing 30 years old, we’re one of the youngest honor societies. But we’ve quickly become one of the largest-rivaling societies that are 200+ years old! That’s because our founder, Steven Loflin, had a crazy idea… what if we went beyond just recognizing high-achievers and also helped equip them – in real and practical ways – so they could get more scholarship money, better internship and job opportunities, and become more well-rounded individuals? Also, that idea resonated with students across the nation because we now have nearly 300 chapters. Watch the video below to see how NSCS has helped students just like you.

What is NSCS?

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is a non-profit honors organization for high-achieving first-and second-year college students. NSCS provides career and graduate school connections, leadership and service experiences, access to discounts and savings, and offers more money in undergrad scholarships than any other honor society of its kind.

What You Should Know as You Decide to Join NSCS

Top 3 Benefits of Membership

1. Valuable Career Tools

In today’s highly-competitive marketplace you’ll need more than just a great GPA to land your dream job. We give you all the tools you need to gain that much needed edge in your job search everything from free resume and cover letter reviews to internships and professional training

2. Recognition

NSCS recognizes and elevates high achieving first- and second- year undergraduates with tangible benefits including a Welcome Package and digital membership credential that will enhance your LinkedIn profile and resume.

3. Lifelong Connection

Success in every area of life depends not just on what you know but also on who you know. As NSCS member Maggie Helmus from Florida State University said, “You don’t realize how important these connections are until you get out in the real world, especially when it comes to your career.”

How Do You Get In?

To be considered for membership you must be invited. The NSCS board works in close collaboration with your University’s Office of the Registrar to identify students who meet our membership standards. We look for the first-and second-year students who attend an accredited U.S. institution and have earned a 3.4 GPA or higher. We invite fewer than 20% of all eligible college students nationwaide, so if you’ve been invited, you’re in good company!
