When did you join NSCS?
I joined NSCS in early 2021.

What made you become a chapter officer?
Well, when it started, the president at the time reached out to me and said he needed my help. Originally it was to help stream the meetings, but then he put me on the social media team. So, I guess it just kind of happened. It was meant to be.

What was the most unexpected reward you received as an officer so far?
I would have to say this spotlight is the most unexpected reward. I am so honored to be recognized.  It already feels good to go hard for something you believe in, recognition is a bonus that I do not take lightly. I am truly grateful.

What is the most important thing you’ve gotten from your time as an undergraduate NSCS member?
The most important thing I have gotten from my time as an undergraduate NSCS member is connections to some valuable individuals and confidence to take on challenges that I may not have taken on previously.

How has your time with NSCS helped prepare you for life after college so far?
NSCS has helped me to get out and start networking more. My Anxiety has kept me from doing many things that I want to do. The opportunity to lead with NSCS helped me to open up a lot more. In addition, I have been able to refine the skills that I am currently attaining in school.

Where do you see yourself after you graduate?
When I graduate, I would like to start my career as a freelance Digital Marketing professional. I would like to help music professionals with their digital marketing strategies and planning.

If you could give a newly inducted undergraduate NSCS member advice on their path through their collegiate journey, what would it be?
Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you through NSCS. What you get out of your membership is completely up to you. Don’t cheat yourself.

If you could give an undergraduate student who is considering joining their NSCS chapter’s leadership team, what would it be?
The first thing I would tell them is that it is not a scam!  We know that is always the first thought. The next thing I would say is, “what do you have to lose?” You pay a one-time fee for a lifetime of opportunities and connections. Since we know that success requires us all to build relationships, why wouldn’t you want to be connected to over 1,000000 other scholars? Who knows, the connections you make through NSCS may be your “foot into a door” you never even dreamed you would be able to walk through.
