I joined NSCS as an undergraduate student at the University of Louisville in 2013 as a quiet student with no prior leadership experience. I remember applying for the Star Status Coordinator role and was elected to the position. From there, I grew in my leadership capabilities, made friendships, travelled alone for the first time to conferences, and even stood in front of an audience of more than 200 people leading an induction ceremony as the Chapter President of NSCS my senior year. As an alumna of over a decade now, I look back to 2013 and I am so grateful that I said "yes" to an opportunity that very much shaped my college experience for the best and has led to so many amazing experiences as an alumna.
