I initially did not intend to join NSCS due to the membership fee. However, after receiving my second invite, I decided to do more research and I discovered that you can actually apply for a fee waiver. I was very honest about my reasons for needing the financial assistance and was granted free membership. I'm so glad I chose to look into this organization further and join because I've gotten so much out of being a member. It is clear that NSCS cares about the success of each student. This organization offers many opportunities for studying abroad, helpful discounts, scholarships, and internships. These are great benefits, but the very best benefit I've gotten out of NSCS is a closed gap between online and campus students at my university.
