As a sophomore, I became president of NSCS Iowa Chapter. I needed some balance in my life other than studying, so I decided to apply for an officer position. I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself, and NSCS allowed me to do so. This position has also given me an opportunity to learn about leadership and how to work with colleagues on group endeavors. It's also given me so many meaningful friendships and working relationships.
