About NSCS Marketing Intern

Paid Internship: $13.25/hour culminating in a capstone project of your choice.
Term: Spring 2019

The marketing Intern will support a high energy and fast-paced marketing and recruitment department, responsible for $6.8 million in revenue, in the following areas:

  • Brand management and communications
  • Social media planning, execution, monitoring and measuring
  • External relations planning and deployment
  • Research, formatting and administration
  • Planning and project management

Qualifications

  • Current NSCS member
  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, PR, or business
  • Experience with writing short marketing copy for social media, emails, flyers
  • Experience with Excel, social media, WordPress, Canva (or Pablo)
  • Ability to review proofs sent back from the printer for merge accuracy
  • Ability to work from our Washington, D.C. office: 2000 M St. NW, Washington, DC 20036
  • Preference will be given to candidates available for at least 2-3 full days

The business management intern will support a high energy and fast-paced scholar relations center that inducts more than 60K new members each year and supports more nearly 2 million members globally. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Respond to member and prospect inquiries via email, phone and website chat box.
  • Document, report and analyze member trends.
  • Research, summarize and manage ad-hoc projects to include information sourcing, aggregation, documentation, etc.
  • Be a brand ambassador for NSCS by explaining the value of membership with respect to your experience.
  • Troubleshoot, reconcile and document member issues.

Qualifications

  • Current NSCS member
  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, business, communications, PR, or another relevant field.
  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, PPT, and Word
  • Driven by data, processes, ROI, etc..
  • Experience learning in a fast-paced environment whilst managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

  • Conduct full analysis of prospect journey and behaviors
  • Interpret data and trends; provide forecasting
  • Analyze results using statistical analysis, explanatory predictive modeling, and data mining techniques
  • Craft data summaries, abstracts and key points to inform business processes
  • Collect, collate and pull data

Qualifications

  • Current NSCS member
  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, mathematics or relevant field
  • Microsoft Excel superstar
  • Understanding and experience with statistics and regression analyses

Your responsibilities will be an integral part of our Induction Season, and Membership Engagement with all NSCS Chapters.

General Scope of Responsibility
• Learn about and track chapter management, member participation, and chapter administration projects and deadlines for the fall term.
• Complete projects that will inform the Member Engagement team initiatives to celebrate student achievement and school participation. We seek creativity and initiative!
• Support Member Engagement Managers while they are traveling to their Regions.
• Assist Member Engagement team in their efforts to educate and train officers about their responsibilities in a variety of platforms: creating training documents, presentations, and updating information.
• Learn about the planned activities at the chapters, including the annual New Member Induction Ceremony process and implementation nationwide.
• Capture Social Media activity from chapter social platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat.
